Dean's Message

Dear students,

welcome to the Faculty of Engineering of the Catholic University of Croatia!

It is my great pleasure to present the university undergraduate programme in Computer Science, a programme designed as a response to the needs of contemporary digital society. At a time when technology shapes almost every aspect of our lives, the goal of our programme is to prepare you to be experts who know not only how technology works, but also why its application in a social context matters so much.

During your studies you will acquire thorough knowledge of computer science — programming, databases, computer networks, artificial intelligence and data analysis — while also developing critical thinking, creativity and interdisciplinary collaboration. We believe it is precisely the combination of technical excellence and social awareness that makes the difference between a good expert and one who truly contributes to the betterment of the community.

The Faculty of Engineering is actively engaged in scientific research, especially in areas of high social and technological relevance. We are proud of our contribution to the development of practical solutions based on artificial intelligence, applicable in medicine, industry and everyday life. We also pay special attention to topics such as cybersecurity, digital ethics, smart infrastructure systems and the digital transformation of society. Our students take part in projects with domestic and international partners, developing knowledge and skills in real research environments.

The practical component of our programme is firmly integrated into the teaching process. Through projects, workshops and professional internships in cooperation with industry, students gain experience that prepares them for work in the technology sector and opens up opportunities for networking and professional development. Small enrolment quotas enable an individualised approach to every student, providing mentorship and support throughout the educational process.

Our Zagreb campus is equipped with modern infrastructure — well-equipped classrooms, computer and AI laboratories, and access to relevant scientific databases — providing quality conditions for academic and research development.

The Computer Science programme is designed to respond to the real needs of the labour market, preparing you for careers in software development, data analytics, information technology, digital transformation and many other fields. The programme also provides a solid foundation for continuing your studies at graduate and postgraduate levels.
