AISE partners meet in Preveza to evaluate the platform and plan its future

From 18 to 20 September 2026, the AISE partners met in Preveza, Greece, for a Transnational Project Meeting coordinated by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Preveza. The consortium reviewed progress across all work packages, the evaluation results of the platform and its AI models, and feedback from teachers and students.
Ionian University presented the latest results of the AISE automatic essay-scoring method. On a held-out test set of 261 of the 2,617 essays, the GPT-4o-mini model reached an accuracy of 0.820 for content, 0.790 for organisation and 0.740 for language (macro-F1: 0.813, 0.774 and 0.724). The next improvement step is to enrich and balance the knowledge bases, so grading stays reliable across countries and essay topics.
Teacher feedback focused on usability, pedagogical value, trust, reliability and workload reduction, and the updated interface already includes improvements to navigation, data entry and the presentation of results. Next steps include an anonymised essay database, interoperability with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and a sustainability plan covering hosting, maintenance and training materials. Two follow-up online meetings are planned for October and November 2026.
